Not quite ready for a competitive program? "Rec" teams are a great way to learn the fundamentals of cheer! Recreational programming is available for ages 5-12 (older athletes are also accepted) and will focus on fundamentals of cheerleading including; balance, strength, dance, tumbling, jumping, stunting, flexibility, teamwork and confidence. Classes are structured around athletes' ages and run once a week on Sundays afternoons.
At the end of each term athletes participate in a family and friends showcase where they get to show off their new skills and routine. Terms run from September to December and January to April, each term fee is $150.
Registration opens August and closes September 1 for our fall term and opens November to December for registration for our spring term, however if teams have not reached maximum capacity we will accept late registration.
Benefits of Recreation Cheer:
Learn something new
Make new friends
No Uniform Fees
Practices are not held on HOLIDAY and COMPETITION WEEKENDS (e.g. Family Day, Easter, etc). Practice schedule may have some irregularities due to the availability of the Kinsmen Community Complex (practice venue/location). Cheer Calendars will be provided at the beginning of the season to outline all practices.
Group numbers will remain small to ensure physical distancing is maintained.
